The event took place in the European Parliament and there were many Vice Presidents and MEPs in attendance. There were also many self- advocates who attended the event in person.
The event was opened by the European Commissioner for equality Hadja Lahbib.
Soufiane El Amrani, Accessibility expert at Inclusion Europe, presented the report during the event.
Our members from Belgium and Denmark also spoke and gave an overview of the situation for people with intellectual disabilities in their countries.
It was a fantastic event and a huge honour that the Parliament gave such strong support to people with intellectual disabilities.
